My Black Diamond Skiing Experience

Recently, I went to a skiing at Lake Tahoe. I went at Boreal Ski Resort. We went for 4
nights and 3 days. The first day, I went with my Uncle to the Green and Blue slopes. The second day, we didn’t go skiing, but on the third day...
… We were climbing up the Accelerator Lift. The wind was cold against my neck. The Accelerator came to a stop. Something was going on down below. It started back again. I was with my Uncle. My dad was teaching my sister how to ski. After a billion trillion years (it was not a billion trillion years but you get it) we finally got off of the ski lift. I started moving toward the lift. The snow was whipping under my feet. I got in position to go down.  I mustered up some courage, and off I went.
I started wedging the whole way down. The slope suddenly got steeper. I got a tugging sensation in my gut. I stopped. It looked like a cliff. My Uncle was right behind me. I moved in a turn. Suddenly, out of the blue, my skis had burst with speed. I sped down extremely fast. “Break, Break!” I shouted. It seemed no one had heard me.
Kaboom! I fell. Ouch! i tumbled down the slope. Finally, my skis stopped. I put my skis perpendicular to the slope and got back up. I went to to the right side of the slope. the was a mini half pipe. I went on it. I went on one side, turned, and went the the other side. for 1/4 of the slope I did that. The slope then turned easy. “This is going to be easy!” I said to myself.
I burst down the slope with newfound speed. I started doing parallel turns. I got to the woods entrance. I wonder what’s going to happen if I go there. I entered the woods. There was nothing much about the woods. but when I entered back into the main slope, there was a tiny ramp, so I jumped when I got out.
I went back into the main slope. I saw the lift entrance. Here we go again I said.

EVERY SINGLE TIME!

My parents college friends are ruining my sanity.

Yesterday, I just went to a birthday party. The birthday girl was 2 years old. She was 2! How do my parents expect me to stay sane in a birthday party full of sweaty toddlers? Anyway her brother also invited his friends. The upstairs rooms were filled with a bunch of 9 year olds that were obsessed with Pokemon. I played Pokemon when I was 5. They are 9? What has the younger generation became?? Anyway, for 3 hours, I had to listen to specific phrases like: “OMIGOSH, MY BEEDRIL EVOVLED” and “DUDE, I BOUGHT A MASTERBALL AND I CAUGHT A RIACHU!!”, while my parents were “socializing with their friends” which probably meant exchanging ideas on how to control their children. And with all of this pokemon discussions and adults chattering, there was no place I could get some peace and quiet. Because I am the only one who is over 10 years old at the party, I couldn’t relate to anyone. This comes to my main point: My parents college friends are ruining my sanity.
Unfortunately, there were many more events I went through to formulate this opinion. I went to a child’s birthday a year ago, at a hiking park area. One, who holds a child’s 3rd birthday in a place you are supposed to use to hike and do recreational activities? Two, it was melting outside. I literally had to splash cold water on top of my head to make sure I don’t die (of heat). Guess what! The people who made the party were my parents college friends.

Whenever my parents tell me that they are going to a party, My face becomes like this: -_- . This face also happened when my parents are invited every year to see the super bowl at  friends house. Sure, they make really tasty food, but it is really boring. They don’t want kids in the TV area, because we are constantly making noises. We have to go upstairs, and there is nobody who is over 8 upstairs.

I am pretty sure that in one point in someone’s childhood, they go through a time when they don’t really like anyone under 8. But I get really mad when someone memorizes some random number of a calculator to make it look like they know exactly what it is. Over a superbowl party, this guy came up to my and says: “What is sin(6)?” I’m just in 6th grade, I haven’t learned that yet. Then, that person says: “ Its -0.27941549819!!! HAHA, you don’t know!!” See, this really makes me angry. He just gets a calculator and says what he looked up. He is in 3rd grade, and he doesn’t even know how to multiply decimals. These kids are either really really annoying, or don’t know how to talk in complete sentences.

Once, I took a first edition new copy of The House of Hades, A bestselling book. I returned home with the whole cover torn. This is what happened:
Step one to ruining a Jeevan’s favorite book:
Wait for the Jeevan to walk into a dark room on accident.
Step 2:
Ambush him by throwing a blanket on him.

Step 3:
Take the book
Step 4: Kick him out of the room, and make sure he doesn’t enter. Make someone read the book aloud.

This is exactly what happened. I spent the entire night trying to get the book back. When I had to leave, they gave it back, with so much rips and tears.

My Views on Being President

The Perks and Drawbacks of being President of the United States of America

Most kids in the United States want to become President, because of 1 reason. They are either going to get famous, or get lots of money. For me, I want to become president of the United States: because there is not much work to be done.
I genuinely think that being the President of the United States is really easy. One of the main jobs is to veto or approve a bill that has been passed. The President can just ask some assistant to make it into a summary, and read it to him. If the President likes it, he can approve, and if he doesn't, he vetoes. Its so simple to just listen to something, and then say if you like it or not.
Another main job the President does is make decisions about how to keep the country growing. Why don’t just use Communism? If that would happen, people would not want to enter USA, which takes care of the Mexican/American border. The “Emperor” could have more freedom, because whatever he says is law.
The President also has to take care of the space programs, like NASA. Though space is interesting, it is useless. If we find another planet with life, how is it going to help us? The world is already so violent, I wonder what would happen if two planets join. If we learned that Jupiter had another moon, how will it affect us? If find a way to go to Mars, How will it help us? Sure, the astronauts will bring back rocks, but it won’t help at all. Sure, many people will get interested in space and its new capacities, but it won’t help anyone, anywhere, anytime. I thought the job of the President of the USA is to lead the country to a better future, but how is wasting $1.7 billion dollars on the Endeavor going to help us. This space program is like trying to make a dead frog croak. Instead of wasting all of this money on space, the US could spend it on welfare, solutions of pollution, and so much more. All the president has to do is just cancel the space program, in the matter of 3 seconds.
Another job that the President has to do is manage the military program. If the USA just minded its own business in warfare, less US troops would be expanded, and the President would not have to do any work. But when the USA gets involved with the Vietnam/Korea fights, many troops are expanded, more money is wasted, and the President has to make decisions. The USA, thankfully, doesn’t have any threats, but South Korea does. If USA stopped meddling with other countries, the President’s job would be so easy.
If I was President, I would make lots of changes to overall society. I think the changes listed above would really help the American society.
Though many may argue that this would also be really mean to the society, it is the only way to improve it
The President job seems so easy. Probably many people could argue this with me.
One bad thing about being President, is that you get blamed for anything bad you cause. Its almost like there are millions of stalkers that are part of facebook, twitter, Google +, and more networking websites, that can spread information really fast. After these stalkers post it, many other stalkers view/share it, until, everyone in America has seen that the President sucks, just because of that one post that an official leaked.
Once this happens, and the whole of USA knows about this, new stalkers arise: The Media......
The Media is going to grill the President with every question possible, ranging from how he feels about this event, to what he is going to eat for lunch tomorrow. The Media then posts this information on websites like CNN, BBC, Wikipedia, etc. Next, computer stalkers make posters that either detriment or blessing the President. Recently, I was browsing google images for a report on Barack Obama, and I saw a photo with a picture of his head all mixed up. I guess that some weirdos spend hours and hours making fun of important people.

One common stereotype of being President is that you'll be really rich. This is not entirely true.

My thoughts on Gold

Gold: It's Useless
There are a lot of things in the world I do not understand, like 401Ks,  interest, and mortgage. But the most interesting thing I don't understand is gold. I don’t understand why gold is so valuable, when the only thing you can do with it is craft it into jewelry. Personally, I think gold is a useless substance, that can be easily replaced by gold colored steel, or anything that is colored gold.
Though gold can be crafted into jewelry, it can be easily replaced. If you spray paint a copper, bronze, or steel ring with a gold color, no one would know the difference, unless they put the ring under a microscope. But when you to a party, no one would take a microscope and look at your necklace or ring.
Gold cannot be used to craft much, and is only purpose is for fashion or decoration. The only great thing about gold is its name. When someone says the word gold, The first thing that comes to mind is “Wow, you must be rich!” Maybe if steel was called gold, then people would put their money invested in a useful material. The process in making gold is to melt it down, and pour it into a cast. Gold can only be poured into a small cast, because it is a weak metal and will break easily. On the other hand, steel has the same process, except it can be used to make larger and more useful metal creations. Have you ever seen a large plate of gold used for boats. NO, but you probably have seen a steel boat.
Gold has no cash value system. Especially, if mass production stops, or another great depression, Gold would be rendered useless. Gold would have no cash value, because everyone is struggling for hard cash or food. If there really is a collapse of the money supply, it is difficult to believe that a locker full of shiny coins will really get you anything.
Even if there is no breakdown of the government, inflation is growing extremely slowly, usually at 2.1%. If you buy a $100 gold reserve, by the end of the year, you will get about $2.10 back. Thirty years after you buy that gold deposit, you would have only got about $63 back. Assuming the inflation rate goes a little higher, at most, at the end of thirty years, you would get at most, $1000, at least $300. Although this gets you more money, you have to wait 30 years. By that time, mass production might have stopped, and gold would be just a useless pile of junk sitting in your bank locker. A better investment would be in either real estate or stocks. In stocks, you know when you want to sell them, when the companies stock revenues are high. Stocks are not based on the measly inflation rate, but more so on the productivity of the companies, which, again, are not based inflation, but product selling. In real estate, the cash flow is based on the persons renting the house. It is not based on inflation.

Though the outside look is very inviting and comforting to know that you have such a shiny material, gold will always be useless unless a huge inflation growth changes the measly 2.1% to 50%.

Poem

Hey Viewers! This is a poem I made for my Core Class, which tackles some of the stereotypes Indians go through. Here it is:

Just because I'm Indian
Doesn't mean my last name is Patel, or Gupta
Doesn't mean I eat curry everyday
Doesn't mean I have no manners

Just because I'm Indian
    Doesn't mean I get straight A's
    Doesn't mean I'm not athletic
Doesn't mean I talk in an obnoxious accent

Just because I'm Indian
    Doesn't mean I'll be a Computer Engineer
Doesn't mean I'm all about Costco Coupons
Doesn't mean my best sport is Chess and my favorite sport is cricket

Just because I'm Indian
    Doesn't mean I speak "Indian"
    Doesn't mean I'm spoiled
Doesn't mean I'm very much different than any of you

Just because I'm Indian
Don't mistake me for people on TV.

My Water Charity Persuasive Essay

Have you ever felt the thirst for water after a long day of heat? You and I enjoy the convenience of getting water whenever we want, whenever we want. But the larger population in Africa does not enjoy this easy convenience. They have to work in the hot sun, or in stuffed diamond mines, and once in a while, they would really like some water.

Water is a vital supplement that your body needs to use. Water is essential to the younger population, because you want your body to become old as a normal body. More than 3.4 million people die each year from water, sanitation, and hygiene-related causes. Nearly all deaths, 99 percent, occur in the developing world of Africa.

In Africa, 345 million people have no access to water. Because of all of these countries who have no supply of water, 3.4 million people die each year from a dehydration related disease. This is enough to fill the whole city of Los Angeles. In the entire world, 780 million people do not have access to fresh, clean water.

This is why I am saying to support the http://www.waterforchildrenafrica.org/ ,the water for the children in Africa charity. They provide safe, sustainable water to African villages. Just think, if water could be supplied to everyone in the world. Peace would not be a problem in Africa, because most battles and killings occur just for water. Also, lots of the world’s sanitation and education would be improved. Half of the world schools do not have access to clean water and sanitation. If the world had more water, children could focus more on education, rather than staying alive with so less water in their country.

A child dies of water borne diseases about every 15 seconds . By this time tomorrow, another 2,500 children will be dead. Today’s youth population is not going to be a struggle for the best job, or best life. It will be for water. Water is the thing that gave humans a refreshing sensation, and now it would turn into the thing that caused us war. Do you really want your great grandchildren to be in a struggle for water? I know I don’t. That’s why I’m saying to support the children in Africa Struggle for water. It would improve the human race. I would give the children in Africa a chance to feel water and its refreshing sensation, after a hot day.
