Hey Viewers! This is a poem I made for my Core Class, which tackles some of the stereotypes Indians go through. Here it is:

Just because I'm Indian

    Doesn't mean my last name is Patel, or Gupta

    Doesn't mean I eat curry everyday

    Doesn't mean I have no manners

Just because I'm Indian

    Doesn't mean I get straight A's

    Doesn't mean I'm not athletic

    Doesn't mean I talk in an obnoxious accent

Just because I'm Indian

    Doesn't mean I'll be a Computer Engineer

    Doesn't mean I'm all about Costco Coupons

    Doesn't mean my best sport is Chess and my favorite sport is cricket

Just because I'm Indian

    Doesn't mean I speak "Indian"

    Doesn't mean I'm spoiled

    Doesn't mean I'm very much different than any of you

Just because I'm Indian

    Don't mistake me for people on TV.
